No one Sleeps Outside is a documentary passion project about Eden Village and their dream of ending homelessness in Springfield, MO. The project is still in production and involves interviews with some of the residents of Eden Village as well as it’s founders. With around 583 homeless individuals in Springfield, MO… Eden Village is striving to put an end to homelessness through permanent housing in a supportive community while also addressing some of the misconceptions the public has about homeless individuals.

Documentaries are a great way to tell a story because they allow you to get to know the characters and their stories. With a topic like homelessness, each person’s story is different. They each faced unique challenges and this project shows the depth of what they went through. The goal of the documentary is to educate the public, but also to show that it is possible to end homelessness.

To best tell the story of Eden Village, pre-production was a vital step in the process that is often overlooked. A pitch deck and production shot list allowed me to have structure and have an idea of what the final product will look like before even pressing the record button.
